"When I look at my shoulder, I see the work of a good surgeon."
Just a few months ago, Van McQuaig couldn’t use his left arm. Now, he can raise it fully above his head thanks to a shoulder replacement performed by Dr. Jonathan Callegari, orthopedic surgeon with Memorial Satilla Specialists.
“I couldn’t use my arm before surgery, but I’ve come a long way in a short time,” Van said. “I had no complications.” After surgery, Van completed a few outpatient therapy sessions and then continued therapy at home under the supervision of Dr. Callegari and his office staff. “My quality of life is much better and I can do my job more easily now,” he says.
Van is quick to recommend Dr. Callegari to friends and family. "I got to know Dr. Callegari and I like his attitude and bedside manner. He gives a lot of information and is very thorough,” Van said. “He’s an awesome doctor and I fully recommend him.”
This week, Van is headed back to the operating room - once again under the care of Dr. Callegari and his partner, Dr. Robert Pilcher, for a hip replacement. He hopes to be recovering well at home just in time for Christmas.
