John Virgil
After several years of cortisone injections and treatment for arthritis in his knee, John Virgil underwent a total knee replacement at Memorial Satilla Specialists Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Robert Pilcher performed the surgery.
Virgil has only good things to say about Pilcher and the orthopedic team, including PA Steven Hutcheson and the nurses who cared for him. “I like to hang out with my doctors and nurses, and I think they like me, too!” he says.
The eighty-year-old Waycross native likes to stay active, and has been walking without his cane since his surgery, even working in his yard. “The doc did a super job on me,” Virgil says.
Virgil is a familiar face to many around town – he managed a local dry cleaner for 38 years before hanging up his hat. As a former businessman, customer service is very important to Virgil and he couldn’t be more pleased with the level of service he received at Memorial Satilla.
“I liked everything about my care. They all treated me real nice and with dignity,” he says.
